Regarding SAP note 1706568

Dear Experts ,

Kindly help to understand the SAP note 1706568 .

We are not using any remote system  to update the master data in the BW system but yes we are updating the master data via Abap  programs using the function module 'RSDMD_WRITE_ATTRIBUTES_TEXTS' 

so

I just want to understand that is there any risk to use the above function module  , even if we are using it in BW system only.

Is this FM is totally obsolete or cannot be used to update the master data from remote system only.

Help to understand the SAP Note better.
