Performance testing: How to glean stats numbers from SAP

Dear Experts,

We have developed a few performance test scenarios and already produced LR scripts for those.

What we want to measure on the SAP R3 side is the average response time (ms) per dialog step. And, the only source of these figures that we know of is from the EWA reports.

I know that these reports could be run as needed but the thing is it would keep averaging numbers from the past.

My question is..

1. I don't want numbers from the past. At the start of each round of testing, I would like to wipe out the existing avg response time. Run a test which simulating users doing FI, MM stuff and at the end of the test, get the new avg response time -- which would reflect the outcome of only the scenario that has just been finished.

How can I do that?

Or, more important, is this the right/practical way to get the "avg response time per dialog step"?

2. Is EWA the only source to obtain this figure?

3. I know I can add a transaction timer on the LR scripts side and get the final numbers from LR Analysis. But customers tend to believe what are being reported on the SAP side.

Appreciate any pointers,
