Setting system status distribution lock

Hello Experts,

     I have a requirement as follows:

     Via an external POS, a sales order would be created directly in released status in SAP CRM. The order may contain products with item category X or of Y. If the sales order contains both, only the line items with item category X should be be distributed to ECC while the ones with Y should be set with a distribution lock. Now, I am trying to map a user status at item category level with the system status I1026 (Distribution Lock) but am unable to do so because in BS33, I see that no transaction can set this system status. Can you please let me know how I can lock distribution at item category level using status profile?
